Slow Cooker Beef Short Ribs
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup (80 g) all-purpose flour
- 2 Β½ pounds (1.2 kg) boneless beef short ribs
- 1/4 cup (60 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (250 g) chopped onion
- 1 cup (250 ml) beef broth
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) red wine vinegar
- 3/4 cup (180 g) brown sugar
- 1/4 cup (60 g) chili sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
Method
Step 1
In a big plastic bag, combine all-purpose flour, salt, and black pepper. Add beef short ribs and shake well to coat.
Step 2
Heat melted butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add seasoned beef ribs and brown on both sides.
Step 3
Transfer browned beef ribs to a slow cooker.
Step 4
In the same skillet, combine the remaining ingredients. Stir well and, stirring, bring to a boil.
Step 5
Pour the mixture over the ribs in the slow cooker. Cover the slow cooker and cook on a low-heat setting for 9 hours.
Step 6
Remove cooked beef ribs from the slow cooker and transfer them to the serving platter. Sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley and serve with cooked vegetables.
