Ingredients
- For Butter:
- 1½ cups biscuit baking mix
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) sour cream
- 1 egg,beaten
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons grated orange peel
- For Glaze:
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) orange juice
- 2 cups powdered sugar,sifted
- 2 teaspoons poppy seeds
Method
Step 1
Lightly grease inside of 4½-quart slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Cut waxed paper circle to fit bottom of slow cooker. Lightly grease with cooking spray.
Step 2
In medium mixing bowl,combine baking mix,sugar and poppy seeds. Whisk well and set aside.
Step 3
In another mixing bowl,combine sour cream, beaten egg,milk,vanilla and orange peel. Blend well and whisk egg mixture into dry mixture until thoroughly blended.
Step 4
Spoon butter into prepared slow cooker and smooth top. Place paper towel under slow cooker lid,then cover tightly. Cook on high-heat setting for 1½ hours.
Step 5
Transfer slow cooker glazed orange poppy seed cake onto cooling rack. Peel off waxed paper and allow to cool completely on cooling rack.
