Slow Cooker Hoisin-and-Honey Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds (1.5 kg) chicken wings
  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) honey
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, peeled and minced

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 375° F (190° C).

Step 2

Cut off and discard wings tips. Cut each chicken wing into 2 pieces.

Step 3

Line baking pan with aluminum foil. Arrange chicken wings in a single layer in preheated oven. Bake for 20 minutes. Drain off fat.

Step 4

In 3½-4-quart(3½-4l) slow cooker, combine hoisin sauce, honey, ginger, sesame oil, and garlic. Mix well. Add chicken wings and stir to coat with sauce. Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 4-5 hours.
