Slow Cooker Marinara Sauce
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large yellow onion, peeled and diced
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 (28 oz (840 ml)each) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 10-12 basil leaves torn
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Method
Step 1
In a nonstick skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and saute, stirring, until translucent.
Step 2
