I’d like to say a few words about shiitake mushrooms.
The word “shiitake” is a Japanese word and means “shii”- oak and “take”-mushroom. They are fungi and don’t have any roots, leaves, flowers, or seeds. These mushrooms are rich in pantothenic acid and selenium. They also contain riboflavin, niacin, zinc, and manganese, and may help fight against bacterial, viral, and different parasitic infections.
You can refrigerate fresh shiitake mushrooms in a paper bag for one week. For longer storage, consider freezing or drying them.
