Slow cooker pork belly with shiitake mushrooms. Cubed pork with shiitake mushrooms cooked in a slow cooker. Very easy pork recipe. This mushroom-pork combined dish has a unique flavor and rich taste.

Equipment You Need to Prepare This Dish:

4-6-quart (4-6 L) slow cooker

nonstick cooking spray

I’d like to say a few words about shiitake mushrooms.

The word “shiitake” is a Japanese word and means “shii”- oak and “take”-mushroom. They are fungi and don’t have any roots, leaves, flowers or seeds. These mushrooms are reach in pantothenic acid and selenium. They also contain riboflavin, niacin, zinc, manganese, and may help fight against bacterial, viral and different parasitic infections.

You can refrigerate fresh shiitake mushrooms in a paper bag up for one week. For the longer storage, consider freezing or drying them.
