Steamed pork dumplings. These are just as wonderful as the dumplings dim sum restaurant.
- 1 pound (480 g) ground pork
- 1/4 cup (60 g) coarsely chopped green onions
- 2 teaspoons minced fresh ginger
- 2 teaspoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 30 wonton skins
In a large saucepan,bring 4 cups (1 L) water to a boil over high heat.
In a mixing bowl,combine all ingredients. Mix well and set aside.
Working with one wonton skin at a time,place on a work surface and spoon 1 ½ teaspoons pork mixture in the center. Brush two adjoining wedges with water. Fold opposite edges over filling.
Place a bamboo or metal steamer over a pot of boiling water. Working in a batches,add wontons,cover and steam until pork is firm and no longer pink inside. Serve hot.
