Shrimp satay.marinated shrimp grilled over gas grill.Delicious Asian recipe.

Ingredients

  • 24 bamboo skewers,soaked
  • 1 pound (480 g) large shrimp,peeled and deveined
  • 3 cilantro sprigs,leaves and stems
  • 2 cloves garlic,peeled
  • 2 teaspoons grated lime zest
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • cooking oil

Method

Step 1

In a food processor,combine cilantro,garlic,chile peppers,lime zest and juice,fish sauce and brown sugar. Process until smooth and transfer mixture to a bowl.

Step 2

Add shrimp and toss until well coated with mixture. Cover with a lid and refrigerate for 30 minutes-1 hour.

Step 3

Preheat gas grill or broiler.

Step 4

Thread 1 shrimp per skewer,end to end. Lightly brush with oil and place on preheated gas grill. Grill,turning once,about 1 minute per side.

Step 5

Serve shrimp satay with peanut sauce.
