Ingredients
- 1 pound (480 g) lean cut stew beef
- 1 large yellow onion,peeled and diced
- 8 carrots,peeled and diced
- 4 stalks celery,diced
- 1½ cups (375 g) frozen green beans,thawed
- 3/4 cup (180 g) barley
- 1 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 15 oz (450 g) can diced tomatoes
- 3 cups (750 ml) beef stock
- 2 cups (500 ml) water
Method
Step 1
In a crock pot,combine all ingredients. Stir well. Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 6 hours.
Step 2
Serve beef and barley stew hot.
