Slow cooker onion soup. Very simple and delicious onion soup cooked in slow cooker. This soup is beef broth-based. For vegetarians, substitute vegetable broth for beef broth. You may also like Slow Cooker Easy Mexican Dip or Oven Cooked Meatballs
Slow Cooker Onion Soup
Ingredients
- 6-8 onions, sliced
- 1/4 cup butter
- 4 10½-ounce (1315 ml) cans condensed beef broth
- 1 soup can water
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Method
Step 1
Combine onion and butter in large skillet. Cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Transfer mixture to slow cooker.
Step 2
Add beef broth, water, sauce, and black pepper. Cover and cook on low heat for 4-6 hours. Ladle slow cooker onion soup into bowls. Garnish with cheese crackers (optional).
