Teriyaki sauce is a classic Japanese cooking sauce that adds a sweet and savory flavor to any dish. It’s the perfect marinade for pork chops, adding a delicious flavor and tenderizing the meat.  So let’s get started on making the perfect teriyaki sauce for your pork chops!

Step 1: What You’ll Need Show All ItemsFor this teriyaki sauce recipe, we’ll need the following ingredients: soy sauce, brown sugar, mirin, rice vinegar or white wine vinegar, garlic cloves, ginger root pieces and a 15 oz can of pineapple chunks. If you don’t want to use cans of pineapple chunks in your teriyaki sauce recipe (or if you don’t happen to have any on hand), you can also use fresh pineapple.1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon mirin 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or white wine vinegar 4 cloves garlic 6 pieces ginger root 1 15 oz can of pineapple chunks

Step 2: Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce Show All Items Now that you’ve got your teriyaki sauce ingredients in front of you, it’s time to get cooking! First, place the soy sauce and brown sugar into a bowl or measuring cup. Stir until the sugars dissolve completely into the soy sauce.

Next, add in your mirin and rice vinegar (if using). Stir these together quickly before adding in the garlic cloves and ginger pieces. Place a lid on top of this with a microwave-safe dish placed over it so that everything is submerged in liquid. Finally, place the teriyaki sauce in a microwave-safe dish and nuke it on high heat for 5 minutes. Stir before serving.

  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 boneless pork chops


Step 1

Lightly grease inside the slow cooker with cooking spray.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, brown sugar, and ginger. Mix well and set aside.

Step 3

Place pork chops in the bottom of the slow cooker. Pour teriyaki mixture over top.

Step 4

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 7-8 hours.
