Spiced salmon fillets with caramelized onions. This is very delicious salmon recipe. Adapted from www. kitchme.com
Ingredients
- 1½ teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon olive oil plus 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 6 oz (180 g) salmon fillet
- 1½ tablespoons minced onion
Method
Step 1
In a mixing bowl,combine all ingredients,except salmon fillets,minced onion and olive oil. Stir well,then add 1 tablespoon olive oil. Stir well again to make a paste.
Step 2
Spread the paste all over salmon fillets. Set aside and allow to marinate at room temperature for 30 minutes.
Step 3
In a small pan over medium heat,heat remaining 2 tablespoons olive oil. Stir in minced onions and cook until golden brown (f0r about 10 minutes).
Step 4
Preheat large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated salmon fillets and cook,turning occasionally, until golden brown on both sides.
Step 5
Remove cooked salmon fillets from the heat. Pour the browned onions and olive oil over the salmon fillets. Serve immediately.
