Air fryer beef empanadas recipe. These empanadas are perfect for a weeknight meal or game day appetizer. Beef empanadas are made with tender meat, homemade dough, and flavorful spices.
The best thing about empanadas was that I didn’t need to worry about oil splattering or anything like that. They come out with a perfect golden-brown crust every time, no matter what you put in them. Adding this to the list of benefits is how it’s great for picky eaters since they can choose their own filling!
It doesn’t take long to make one, and they won’t fill up your kitchen with that strong cooking oil smell.
As a first step, you will need to prepare the dough for the empanadas. You can either make your own dough for a freshly baked empanada or choose the pre-made alternative. There are some empanadas recipes that call for using puff pastry or pizza dough, but those don’t really have the right texture.
Puff pastry is too light, while pizza dough can be too bready. Pie crust is a good substitute in a pinch, but it’s pretty sweet. You can always go to the store and buy pre-made empanada dough. It just needs some frying, and it’s usually all set.
An empanada is only as good as what it’s filled with! For the empanadas pictured here, I used leftover chili. You could also make a quick meal with shredded chicken in a tomatillo sauce, sauteed cabbage, or your favorite melted cheese.
What are the benefits of using an air fryer to prepare these empanadas?
The air fryer is a new way of cooking that has been introduced in the last few years. It is a healthier option than deep frying and it can be used for all types of dishes.
It’s true that the traditional Argentinian empanadas are not fried, but they are baked instead. The air fryer makes this process much easier because you don’t need to use any extra oil or fat.
What makes these beef empanadas different from others?
The beef empanadas are different because they are not made with the typical beef that is found in most empanadas. These empanadas are made with ground beef, which is a healthier option than using ground beef.
The ingredients that go into these empanadas also make them different from other types of empanadas. The dough for these empanadas is made with whole wheat flour and it is also baked instead of deep-fried. This makes the dough healthier than other types of dough that are used to make this type of dish.
