Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, sliced
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) buttermilk

Method

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Mix well.

Step 2

Using a fork, cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Pour in the buttermilk and stir until smooth.

Step 3

Dust a clean surface with the flour. Roll the dough out until it is 1/2 inch thick. Using a 2-inch (5 cm) biscuit cutter, cut out the biscuits. Set aside.

Step 4

Preheat your air fryer to 400 F (200 C) for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Grease the air fryer basket with olive oil. Working in batches, arrange the biscuits in a single layer in the oiled basket. Air fry at 360 F (180 C) for 5 minutes.

Step 6

Remove cooked biscuits from the fryer and transfer to a serving plate. Repeat with the remaining biscuits. Serve warm.
