Health Benefits of Eating Air Fryer Pork Belly

Eating pork belly is a delicious way to get protein and other nutrients. But did you know that there are health benefits to eating an air-fried pork belly?

Air frying is a healthy cooking method that uses less oil than deep-frying, making it an ideal choice for those looking to reduce fat and calories in their diet. On top of being healthy, air frying is a quick way to cook.

This means you can prepare your pork belly in less than 30 minutes and enjoy it while still crisp and flavorful. Plus, cooking with an air fryer is also cost-effective.

A great way to prepare your pork belly is by using the hanger cut. This cut has two muscles that are attached to the hip bone.

The first muscle is called the loin, which does not need to be cooked as much as the second muscle, the blade bone or collar bone. With this method, you can balance meat and fat in the finished dish.

How to Clean Your Air Fryer After Cooking?

After cooking your delicious air-fried pork belly, it’s important to know the best ways to clean and store it. Proper cleaning and storing of your cooked food will ensure that you get the most out of your air fryer.

Air Fryer Cleaning

Before you start cleaning your air fryer, make sure to unplug it from the outlet so that you do not accidentally shock yourself with electricity! If there is oil in your air fryer, it must be cleaned out prior to use. It’s a good idea to clean your air fryer once every few days or even more often depending on how often you use it. Here are some of the best ways to clean an air fryer:

-Fill the air fryer with water and add a few drops of dish soap. Shut it off, then unplug it. Let it sit for a few minutes, then open the lid and scoop out the soapy water to rinse away any remaining food bits that might remain in there.

-Take a paper towel or cloth and blot around the heating element area gently to remove any excess oil that may have accumulated on top of the heating element during use.-Using an air fryer brush designed for your specific model, clean all surfaces thoroughly from front to back using circular motions. This will help get rid of any stuck-on food particles or grease.-Put the air fryer on the top rack of your dishwasher, set it to the sterilize cycle and let it finish up.

If you’re still not convinced that this is a legitimate product, here are some testimonials from Amazon reviewers who have tried it: “I have one and I love it! It works wonderfully. I had my doubts but now I’m telling everyone about mine.”I’m really happy with my air fryer after using this oil!”

Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds (740 g) pork belly
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 teaspoons of flaked salt

Method

Step 1

Make shallow cuts on the pork belly skin using a sharp knife. Take care not to go through the meat. Rub a teaspoon of salt into the scores in the skin until it's evenly distributed. Leave it on for ten minutes before carrying on with your next step.

Step 2

On a plate, combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 teaspoons of salt. Mix well.

Step 3

Preheat your air fryer to 320 F (160 C). Gently remove the excess moisture from the pork belly, then dip it into an oil/salt mixture to coat evenly. Put the pork belly in the air fryer with the skin facing upward.

Step 4

Fry at 320 F (160 C) for 30 minutes. When the timer goes off, increase the heat to 390°F/ 195°C and let your pork belly fry for a further 5-10 minutes to achieve great results.

Step 5

After taking fried pork belly out of your air fryer, let it sit for 5 minutes to allow the flavors and moisture to go back into the dish. After allowing the pork belly to be at rest, use a sharp knife to cut it while keeping the skin facing downwards on a cutting board.
