Ingredients
- 16 chicken wings, separated
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) low-fat buttermilk
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon raw honey
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) sriracha sauce
- 2 tablespoons Bourbon
- chicken seasoning, to taste
- freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Method
Step 1
Wash chicken wings and pat them dry with paper towels. Drizzle with soy sauce, then season them with seasonings. Place seasoned chicken wings in a Ziploc bag. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or overnight.
Step 2
Once the wings have marinated, add all-purpose flour to a separate Ziploc bag.
Step 3
Pour the buttermilk into a large bowl. Dip each marinated wing in the buttermilk, then add it to the Ziploc bag with flour. Shake well.
Step 4
Using a cooking brush, coat the air fryer basket with coconut oil. Using tongs, remove chicken wings from the bag and place them in the greased air fryer basket.
Step 5
Fry chicken wings at 400 F (200 C) for 20 minutes, shaking the basket every 5 minutes.
Step 6
Preheat an oven to 400 F (200 C) Line the baking pan with aluminum foil, then spray it with nonstick cooking spray.
Step 7
In a small mixing bowl, combine the Sriracha sauce, honey, and Bourbon. Microwave for 15 seconds.
Step 8
Spread the Bourbon mixture over fried chicken wings. Bake for 7-10 minutes. Serve hot.
