Chicken Lazone Variations:
Creamy (From My Instant Pot Family) 3/4 cup heavy cream, 1 (14 oz) can petite diced tomatoes, 3/4 tsp dried oregano, 1/2 tsp dried basil, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, salt, to taste
In a medium bowl, mix together the heavy cream, and diced tomatoes with juice and seasonings. Set aside. This will be your sauce for your Instant Pot Chicken Lazone!
Spray the inside of your Instant Pot insert with cooking spray or coat it with oil. Season chicken on both sides and place in the Instant Pot. Add water to the instant pot’s trivet to create a saucy, moist environment. Sprinkle the chicken with salt. Cover the instant pot and set it to manual or pressure cook for 15 minutes at high pressure, followed by a 10-minute Natural Release.
Once the chicken is done cooking, allow it to sit on top of the hot trivet for 5 more minutes before releasing any remaining pressure manually. Remove and shred chicken with two forks into large chunks (or in your food processor!)Top your Instant Pot Chicken Lazone with sauce and serve!
Instant Pot Chicken Lazone

- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 pounds (960 g) boneless and skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 2 tablespoons water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 talespoons finley chopped parsley
- 12 oz (360 g) cooked spaghetti
In a small mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well. Add the chicken breasts and toss to coat the meat with spices.
Add the oil and melt the butter in an electric instant pot turned to saute mode. Working in batches, add seasoned chicken breasts and saute on both sides, then remove them and transfer them to a plate. Repeat with the remaining chicken.
Transfer sauteed chicken to the instant pot. Pour in the broth. Close the pot and lock the lid. Set the machine to cook to high pressure. Set the timer to cook for 3 minutes.
Using the Quick Release method, bring pressure to normal. Carefully unlock and open the lid.
In a small mixing bowl, combine cornstarch and water. Mix until the cornstarch has dissolved completely.
Push chicken to one side of the cooker, then stir in the cornstarch mixture. Switch the pot to saute mode. Cook, stirring, until the sauce is thickened.
Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked spaghetti.
