Pressure Cooker Coca Cola Chicken Wings

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds (1.44 kg) chicken wings, separated
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Chinese cooking wine
  • 2 cups (500 ml) coca cola
  • 2 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 2 tablespoon chopped green onions
  • salt and 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

Method

Step 1

Season chicken wings with salt and 1 tablespoon black pepper.

Step 2

In a mixing bowl, combine remaining ingredients. Mix well.

Step 3

Place seasoned chicken wings and soy mixture in a pressure cooker. Close pressure cooker and adjust the pressure valve to Airtight. Program your pressure cooker for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Open pressure cooker and, using tongs, remove cooked chicken wings, reserving cooking liquid Set aside. Ladle out about half of cooking liquid and discard. Press start button on pressure machine to start heating process.

Step 5

To thicken the sauce, add 2 tablespoons butter and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour. Mix it thoroughly and let it reduce down and thicken to where the sauce will coat a spoon and not drip off immediately. It takes approximately 10-minutes.

Step 6

Once the sauce is thick enough, return cooked chicken wings back into the pot and mix it so it gets a nice sauce bath. Remove from pressure cooker and serve immediately.
