Ingredients

  • 4 cups (1 kg) peeled, cored and sliced apples
  • 1/2 cup (125 g) fresh cranberries
  • 1/3 cup (80 g) light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Step 1

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 1Β½-2 hours or until apples are tender.

Step 2

Remove cooked apple-cranberry compote from slow cooker and transfer to a serving bowl. Sprinkle warm or cold.
