Slow cooker pork and cabbage. This is a really flavorful and hearty slow cooker pork and cabbage dish. Itโ€™s not one of those soups, stews, or chilis you might associate with a slow cooker meal, but itโ€™s still hearty and delicious and perfect for wintertime.

What are some benefits of slow cooker pork and cabbage?

Slow cooker pork and cabbage is a great dish for the colder months. It is full of flavor and can be prepared in advance. One of the benefits is that it doesnโ€™t make your house smell like pot roast like some other dishes do. You can also make it ahead of time, so itโ€™s perfect for entertaining or for when you want to come home after work to a delicious hot meal waiting for you.

Another benefit is that this dish takes minimal effort to cook, making it an easy option when you need something but donโ€™t want to spend hours in the kitchen or think about what to cook at all. All you have to do is chop up the vegetables, put them into your slow cooker with the pork chops, broth, etc., and let it cook on low heat setting for 6-8 hours.

What are some variations for this dish?

There are many variations that can be made to this dish.

With the right ingredients, you can add rice, broccoli, and cheese for a recipe named โ€œCheesy Broccoli Rice Casserole.โ€

You could also add garlic and onion powder before cooking the chicken to get โ€œGarlic Chicken with Rice.โ€

A third option would be to fry the chicken in oil with salt and pepper before continuing on with the rest of the recipe. This variation is called โ€œFried Chicken Casserole.โ€
