What is the difference between a slow cooker and a Crockpot?
A slow cooker is a pot that comes with a lid and a heating element. The heat source is usually at the bottom of the pot, so food cooks from the heat being radiated from the bottom.
A Crockpot is also a pot, but it does not have a heating element. It has an inner bowl that sits on top of the outer pot. The heat source is at the top of this inner bowl and cooks food from the heat being radiated from above.
Slow cookers are typically used to cook foods like stews, soups, and other dishes that need long periods of time to simmer or stew in order for their flavors to develop properly. Crockpots are typically used for dishes like casseroles and roasts which require longer periods of time.
