Ingredients
- 3 cups (750 ml) reduced-sodium fat-free chicken broth
- 1 cup diced celery ribs
- 8 oz (240 ml) can tomato sauce
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 cloves garlic,peeled and minced
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) dry sherry
- 1-2 teaspoons dried italian seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
- 3 drops hot pepper sauce
- 1 ½ cups cooked,peeled and deveined shrimp
- salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) whole milk
Method
Step 1
In 6 quart (6L) slow cooker,combine all ingredients,except cooked shrimp,salt and black pepper. Cover and cook on high-heat setting for 4-6 hours.
Step 2
Add shrimp and milk during last 10 cooking minutes. Season slow cooker shrimp and vegetable chowder with salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste.
Step 3
Serve hot.
