Air fryer fish cakes recipe. This is a great fish-cake recipe, perfect for an appetizer or as a main dish. These air fryer fish cakes are crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. They are made with tender whitefish, fresh cilantro, and sweet chili sauce. They’ll cook up perfectly in the air fryer.
Fast, Easy, and Tasty Air Fryer Fish Cakes
I love seafood because it has such amazing flavors and is great for you too. From calamari to salmon, shellfish to tilapia, they all are full of clean tastes and nutrients that are good for your health.
Sometimes I channel that love into cooking dishes like lobster or fish and chips. Other times, it’s a simple recipe like these beautiful fish cakes that take only a few minutes to make and are full of delicious flavor!
The secret ingredient I use to make the best fish cakes is sweet chili sauce. It sounds like an odd choice, but it really works! Even though the flavor profile for most white fish cakes is pretty mild, I find the spiciness and slight tangy of sweet chili sauce go amazingly well. It’s not overpowering and adds loads of flavor while still maintaining that great crispy outer crust.
You won’t believe how easy these fresh-tasting fish cakes are. Fry them up with any sauce you like, and they’ll be the perfect starter. You could also use them to create seafood or slider burgers, on a brioche bun with a pat of butter.
How to Prepare Fish Cakes
Making this yummy dish is really easy! Keep in mind that the recipe makes 4 servings, so if you’d like leftovers or want to feed more people, double it and plan to allow some extra time for frying.
Before you start making the fishcakes, preheat your air fryer to 400˚F and grease the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking oil spray.
In a medium mixing bowl, mix together the chopped white fish, Panko breadcrumbs, cilantro, chili sauce, mayonnaise, egg, salt, and black pepper. Shape the fish mixture into 4 patties.
Spray the patty with a little cooking spray and place it in the prepared air fryer basket. Fry at 400 F (200 C) for 10 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time.
Once you see the fish cakes turn a nice golden brown on both sides, take them out of the air frying basket and serve them warm with some fresh limes to squeeze while they eat!
