Air fryer Thai kai tod yang recipe. If you want a healthy, tasty, and quick meal then air fryer chicken wings is the perfect dish for you. Kai tod yang, which literally translates to “fried chicken wings,” is one of Thailand’s most popular street foods. It’s made with the same ingredients as traditional fried chicken wings, but it’s cooked in an air fryer instead of deep-fried. The result is crispy, flavor-packed wings with significantly less fat than its deep-fried cousin.
For this recipe, I use a homemade sauce that is made from brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. You can find the full recipe for the homemade sauce on the blog. The sauce will help create a nice glaze when it’s done cooking. Unlike most air fryer recipes, I recommend cooking these wings in batches so that they can be eaten immediately once they’re done. The sauce needs to be made while the wings are cooking so that it can be poured over them. It goes without saying, but you should definitely serve these wings with all of the classic accompaniments: ranch dressing, blue cheese, celery sticks, and carrot sticks.
People who enjoy spicy food and enjoy eating chicken wings are likely to have a favorite sauce or dip. It’s not just about flavor, but also about balance. You don’t want the sauce to be too heavy so it doesn’t overpower the taste of the chicken wings. Adding too much may leave you feeling sickly afterward. This is where the Thai sauce recipe comes in handy, as this is a recipe that balances all of these factors out with just an ounce of cream, an ounce of vinegar, and enough water to mix it all together.
The Thai sauce recipe is a great alternative to a hot sauce when you’re cooking chicken wings. It may not have the same spiciness, but it will have that perfect balance of flavors and ingredients that you’ll need to cook them perfectly. Ingredients:
1/2 cup (125 ml) soy sauce
1/4 cup (60 ml) water
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
5 cloves garlic, peeled, minced, or pressed
3 tablespoons minced ginger root or grated ginger (scant)
1 teaspoon ground coriander seed
3 teaspoons red pepper flakes ( optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
salt to taste
1/2 cup (125 ml) heavy cream or 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Instructions-Add the soy sauce, water, brown sugar, and garlic to a medium saucepan or skillet.
Stir together over medium-high heat until the brown sugar has dissolved.
Add in the remaining ingredients, stir well to combine, and reduce the heat to low.
Cook for 5 minutes. Add in the cream or butter and stir until it is melted. Remove from the heat, cover, and let cool for 20 minutes.
Stir mixture before serving.
