Steamed Buttery Italian-Style Clams Recipe
To cook them in the skillet you need to use the following ingredients:
1/2 cup unsalted butter, 5 cloves garlic, peeled and minced, 2 cups (500 ml) dry white wine, 1 tablespoon dried oregano, 1 tablespoon dried parsley, 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, 36 clams in the shell, scrubbed
Instructions: In a large nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook, stirring, until golden.
Pour in dry white wine and season with oregano, parsley, and red pepper flakes.
Place clams in the wine mixture.
Cover skillet and steam over medium heat until clams have opened.
Discard any unopened clams. Ladle into soup bowls. Serve hot.

Buttery Italian-Style Clams Recipe
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons dry vermouth
- 2 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoons whipped butter
- 2 garlic cloves, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 12 clams, scrubbed
Method
Step 1
In an 8 x, 8 x 2-inch microwavable baking dish combine all ingredients except clams. Cover and microwave on High (100%) for 2 min.
Step 2
In the same baking dish arrange clams with a hinged side of each clam toward the edge of the dish, leaving a space between each. Cover and microwave on Medium (50%) for 2 min
Step 3
Rotate casserole 1/2 turn/cover and microwave on High for 3 min. Let stand for 1 min. Serve clams with onion mixture.
