Grilled oysters recipe.
Very delicious oysters grilled on gas or charcoal grill and served with tasty homemade herb butter sauce.
You can also broil oysters in an oven. To broil oysters you need to use the following ingredients:
24 whole raw oysters
2 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
cracked black pepper, to taste
1 tablespoon finely minced fresh parsley
Directions:
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, (for 30 seconds). Stir in lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt, cracked black pepper, and minced fresh parsley. Turn off the heat.
Preheat the broiler. Place one layer of uncooked rice on a rimmed baking sheet. Place the oyster cup side down in uncooked rice. Place under the broiler for a couple of minutes.
Remove the pan from the heat. Chuck each oyster, using an oyster knife and holding each oyster with an oven mitt. Spoon the sauce into each oyster. Return to under the broiler. Broil for further 4-5 minutes. Serve broiled oysters hot.
Grilled Oysters Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon whipped butter, softened
- 2 teaspoon chopped fresh dill
- 2 teaspoons margarine, softened
- 1 teaspoon grated lime peel
- dush thyme leaves
- dush crushed red pepper flakes
- 12 medium oyasters, scrubled
- shredded Cheddar cheese
Method
Step 1
Preheat barbecue or gas grill on high for 10 min.
Step 2
In a small serving bowl combine all ingredients except oysters. Mix well and set aside.
Step 3
Arrange oysters on a rack and cook in the preheated oven until shells open, for 5-8 min. To serve, arrange open on serving platter and serve with butter mixture.
