Ingredients

  • 8 slices of white bread, cubed
  • 1/2 cup (250 ml) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) brown sugar
  • 4 cups, peeled and cubed cooking apples

Method

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine cubed bread, melted butter, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and brown sugar. Stir well.

Step 2

In a 4-quart (4 L) slow cooker, starting with bread mixture, alternate layers with cubed apples.

Step 3

Cover the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 3-4 hours or until apples are tender.

Step 4

Turn off the slow cooker and open the lid. Remove the cooked apple bread pudding from the cooker and transfer to a serving plate. Serve warm
