We eat vegetables because they are one of the best sources of vitamins and minerals. Some vegetables, such as peas and beans, are good sources of protein, while roots, stems, leaves, and seeds provide the body with carbohydrates in the form of starch. Slow Cooker Caramelized Sweet Onions Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6-8 large sweet onions
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 10 oz (300 ml) chicken broth

Method

Step 1

Peel onions. Remove stems and root ends. Place in a slow cooker.

Step 2

Pour the butter and broth over. Cook on a Low -heat setting for12 hours. Note: Serve caramelized onions as a side dish, or use onions and liquid to flavor soups or stews, or as a topping for pizza.
