Ingredients and Preparation
To make this easy slow cooker saucy chicken, you’ll need:
– 1 pound (480 g) boneless and skinless chicken breasts
– 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
– 10 ¾ oz (320 ml) can low-fat cream of chicken soup
– 1 ¼ cups (310 ml) nonfat half-and-half
– 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
Cooking Saucy Chicken Breasts
1. In a slow cooker, combine the chicken breasts, all-purpose flour, black pepper, and garlic powder.
2. In a separate bowl, combine chicken soup, mushrooms, and half-and-half. Mix until well blended and pour the soup mixture over seasoned chicken breasts
3. Cover and cook on low for 4-5 hours, or until the chicken is cooked through.
4. Serve with your favorite sides.
For a more flavorful dish, use homemade chicken broth or stock in place of the canned soup. You can also add some chopped vegetables, such as carrots, celery, or onions, to the slow cooker along with the chicken. If you don’t have any half-and-half on hand, you can use milk or cream instead.
You can also use boneless, skinless chicken thighs in this recipe. If you prefer a thicker sauce, add 1 tablespoon cornstarch dissolved in 1 tablespoon water to the slow cooker and cook for 5 minutes more. For a more flavorful sauce, use homemade chicken broth or stock.

Step 1
Grease the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. Place chicken breasts in greased slow cooker.
Step 2
In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well and sprinkle flour mixture over chicken and turn to coat.
Step 3
In another mixing bowl, combine creamy chicken soup, mushrooms, and half-and-half. Mix until well blended. Pour soup mixture over seasoned chicken breasts.
Step 4
Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 4-6 hours.
