Slow Cooker Stuffed Apples Recipe

  • 4 medium tart baking apples
  • 1/3 cup dried raisins
  • 1/3 cup dried cramberries
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) apple juice
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into four pieces

Step 1

Core apples, then peel a strip from the top of each apple. Arrange Cored apples, top side up, in a 4-quart (4 L) slow cooker.

Step 2

In a small mixing bowl, combine dried raisins, brown sugar, cranberries, oats, and ground cinnamon. Mix well. Spoon mixture into the centers of apples, patting in with a spatula. Pour apple juice around apples. Top each stuffed apple with a piece of butter.

Step 3

Cover the pot and cook on low-heat setting for 5 hours.

Step 4

Turn off the cooker and open the lid. Remove baked apples from the slow cooker and transfer to serving plates. Spoon the cooking liquid over apples. Serve warm.
