- 2 ½ oz (75g) beef stew mix
- 4-5 pounds (2-2.2 kg) beef brisket,fat trimmed
- 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) cold water
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
In slow cooker, combine 2 cups water, sliced onion, horseradish and dry beef stew mix. Mix well.
Add beef brisket to slow cooker, slicing in half to fit if necessary. Cover slow cooker and cook on low-heat setting for 7 ½ hours, turning meat once.
Open slow cooker and ,using a tongs, remove cooked beef. Transfer brisket to cutting board, reserving cooking liquid. Cool beef brisket slightly.
