Fried crispy salted shrimp. Crispy salty and spicy shrimp fried in deep fryer. Delicious seafood recipe! You may also like Shrimp Creole or Fried Peppery Shrimp

Fried Crispy Salted Shrimp

Ingredients

  • 1 pound (480 g) shrimp, deveined,heads on
  • 1 cup (250 g) rice flour
  • 1½ tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 red chili pepper,sliced
  • 1/4 cup (60 g) green scallions,sliced
  • vegetable oil

Method

Step 1

In a colander, run shrimp under cold water. Drain and pat dry with paper towel. Sprinkle kosher salt over the shrimp. Toss well to coat each shrimp.

Step 2

Refrigerate for 10 minutes.

Step 3

In a deep fryer, preheat vegetable oil to 375 F (190 C).

Step 4

Remove shrimp from the refrigerator. Sprinkle rice flour all over and toss well to coat. Sift to get rid of any extra flour.

Step 5

In batches, add shrimp to preheated oil and fry until lightly golden and crispy. Transfer fried shrimp to a paper towel lined plate. When the grease has been drained, gently toss fried shrimp with sliced scallions and chilies.

Step 6

Serve immediately.
