Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup (125 ml) low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 (60 ml) cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 5 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Gochujang sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 pounds (1.9 kg) boneless beef chuck roast, cubed
  • chopped green onions, for garnish
  • toasted sesame seeds, for garnish

Method

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, combine all ingredients, except beef, sesame seeds, and green onions. Mix well.

Step 2

Place cubed meat into a 6-quart (6 L) electric instant pot. Pour the sauce over.

Step 3

Close the pot and lock the lid. Set the machine to cook at high pressure. Set the timer to cook for 40 minutes.

Step 4

Using the Natural Release method, bring pressure to normal. Carefully unlock and open the lid. Stir cooked beef before serving. Sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.
